He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee,
but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? (Micah 6:8)
Beloved, it is our task and our mission to be a blessing. We cannot be a blessing to others and still operate through condemnation, criticism, or judgment. We can only accomplish our mission of blessing through people who love mercy and walk humbly with their God; in a spirit of love, mercy, and forgiveness. The Church should be a place of mercy, not of condemnation. Yes, we must speak the truth and it may cause discomfort, but we should operate from a place of love and mercy so that others may be reconciled to God, just as we are.

But as for me. I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy:
and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple. (Psalms 5:7)Mercy is so important and so fulfilling that the Psalmist included it in his reasons for singing. Many of his songs focus on God’s mercy, the effects of mercy, and the need for mercy. When we have something that good, we sing about it! Blessed are the merciful. Mercy is built up forever. God’s faithfulness is surely established, and He will return mercy for mercy!

I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever:
with my mouth will I make known
thy faithfulness to all generations.
For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever:
thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.
(Psalms 89:1-2)There is so much more to this message of mercy.
