In the Bible, the writer Paul urges us to do the following:
“Let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:1b-2 KJV).
We — you and I — are God’s joy — and He is ours. We may partake of His nature (He will empower us). We may enjoy camaraderie with Him.
Actually, the expression of our individual relationship with Jesus Christ is unique to each of us. His divine nature works through each of us to touch others and extend His kingdom. Through us, He reaches and helps those around us. But before He works through us, He works in us.
We are His real prize. It was for us that Christ died.
We are His special people, His inheritance; and He invites us to share everything He is and has.
We are invited to enjoy life in relationship with Him. Yes, we may suffer at times, but we can draw upon His strength in every circumstance. We can rest and abide in Him, confident that the outcome will work for our good.
Andrew Murray, a twentieth century South African pastor and writer of over 200 books and tracts, wrote this:
“May not a single moment of my life be spent outside the light, love, and joy of God’s presence. And not a moment without the entire surrender of myself as a vessel for him to fill full of His Spirit and His love.”
That’s a pretty apt description of partaking of Jesus in everyday life. The result is a changed life: an utterly different existence than the one we had before.
Choosing to partake of Jesus is a game changer. This teaching video will help you understand how to live this authentic, joyful Christian life even in our troubled world.
