A lot of people question even the idea of Satan. He’s just a horned guy with cloven hoofs from a distant mythology, a costume possibility for a Halloween party. But we know better than that.
Just the same, even believers often miss an accurate understanding about the Devil’s place or his power today. Some find a demon behind every bush and blame Satan for everything—even the consequences of their own choices. Others have a different perspective. They see him as an ancient evil force, a completely defeated foe, one they don’t have to worry about anymore.
So which is it? Is Satan a problem or not? If so, how much of one?
What kind of power does he really have? Can he read our minds like God? Is he roaming wherever he pleases or does he have limitations? Where is he? How does he work and why does he do what he does?
The information in the Bible about the Devil is like a dark thread, but it is not one that Jesus left unexplained. In this session, we will shed God’s light on what the Bible teaches about the Devil. As it turns out, it is a pretty important subject after all.
Paul instructed us to walk prepared and in the light, so “ye may be able to withstand in the evil day” (Ephesians 6:13). The Devil’s present status lays the backdrop for the greatest conflict our world will ever see. We are in a battle to save the souls of those around us. With a biblical understanding of the warfare we wage, we can walk in victory and not defeat. Join me and learn more.
