Many Bibles have the Words of Jesus printed in red letters. Red-Letter Living is giving specific and concentrated attention to the red letters: those Words of Jesus. The object is to know them and to live them. Much of Christendom has sunk into an academic or theological existence, creating an “idea God.” God has become an idea about whom we jostle and debate our ideas.

However, genuine Christianity is about living the ideas, His ideas. Even having a right theology does not get one to success, neither in this life nor in eternity. Jesus said it in red, “Whosoever heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man . . .” (Matthew 7:24). Red-Letter Living is doing the Words of Jesus.
