It’s easy to think about God in ways that are not accurate.
In fact, this is an area in which the Devil has worked overtime. He does not want us to have a true picture of God. He wants us to view God through a cloudy lens at best. How many people do you know that regard God as a harsh taskmaster? Or a drill sergeant? Or a an unfeeling dictator? How about a stern judge?
The Enemy delights in taking truth and twisting it.
For example, God does judge, but the stern Judge is a picture that is painted with a bent brush that focuses only on evil, making God out to be harsh and unyielding. Meanwhile, Scripture shows God to be long-suffering and patient and merciful in His judgment.
Those two likenesses just don’t jive, do they?
