What Veteran’s Sunday is All About

Coming home from the battlefield doesn’t mean the war is over. For Combat Veterans, a new war begins. The Department of Veterans Affairs reports that twenty-two Veterans commit suicide every day.

Ecclesiastes says, “For everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under the heaven.” It starts a list with, “a time to be born and a time to die.” Then comes a remarkable insight “A Time To Kill and A Time To Heal.”

Every Soldier who has had to kill, has to heal. The best thing we can do for them is to help them heal. We do that by honoring, esteeming, caring, and loving them. And that is what Veteran’s Sunday is about. Our goal on that Sunday is to bring them together with us, listen to our Pastor give both them and us, healing insights on why and how to honor Veterans.

We have put together a group of resources to help you do just that.

  • The Sample Kit is our most popular one, as it gives you the basic necessities to host your own Veteran’s Sunday event.
  • We have also included just our Digital Resources in case you prefer to modify materials yourself.
  • The full Resource Kit comes with a full case of books, 300 bulletin inserts, digital resources, as well as a full-sized poster.
  • Browse our Full Resource Gallery to buy individual books, cases of books, posters, inserts, or standing banners for your foyer.

Why Honor Combat Veterans?

These Veterans have demonstrated genuine love for us, “for greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). They have laid down their lives for us. They have stood between us and the chief terrorist, Satan. They have protected our lives from adversaries, incurable perpetrators of evil who are hell-bent on raping, robbing, plundering, killing and kidnapping innocent people. They fought for us. Now we should fight for them.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”2141″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]A Time To Kill and A Time To Heal is a gift book that helps combat veterans heal after the trauma of war. It’s 100 hundred pages magnificently illustrated with specific and compelling truths to help those who have suffered the violence of war come home and prepare for a time of true healing from the true healer.

By reading it yourself, you will appreciate the hell they faced for you. You will understand their long-term exposure to hatred, the psychological beatings they’ve endured, their devastation over the loss of comrades and much much more.

But most of all, you, like them, will know the precise steps to healing, for only God can reach the soul of a Soldier making “old things pass away and all things to become new.”

Invite them to Veteran’s Sunday and consider gifting this book to them when they come.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1528226818723{border-top-width: 2px !important;border-right-width: 0px !important;border-bottom-width: 2px !important;border-left-width: 0px !important;padding-right: 10% !important;padding-left: 10% !important;background-color: #071c22 !important;border-left-color: #bf202f !important;border-left-style: solid !important;border-right-color: #bf202f !important;border-right-style: solid !important;border-top-color: #bf202f !important;border-top-style: solid !important;border-bottom-color: #bf202f !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;}”][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

Why a Veteran’s Sunday Outreach?

It is the Christlike thing to do!

American Combat Veterans are killing themselves at the rate of 22 every day. That’s over 8,000 suicides, every year, almost one every hour.

We must bring them to Christ to be healed and every congregant must be trained to understand and care for them, their spouses and their children.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”2144″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1528226839214{margin-bottom: 0px !important;padding-right: 10% !important;padding-bottom: 0px !important;padding-left: 10% !important;background-color: #07152d !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text]
